Wax figures of showbiz stars are presented in the museum

In Los Angeles, there is a popular area known as Hollywood. It is home to numerous film studios where movies, TV series, television shows and programs are produced. Also, many prominent personalities live in Hollywood. Tourists like to come to this area to touch the art of cinema, stroll along Hollywood Boulevard and visit Madame Tussauds.

Madame Tussauds Hollywood was opened in 2009. Over the years, it has displayed more than 220 wax figures of famous actors, politicians, athletes and showbiz stars. It’s worth noting that these figures are not placed on pedestals but stand at eye level with visitors. Unlike other wax figure museums, you can touch the figures and take photographs with them in Hollywood. Visitors often remark that the exhibits are masterfully crafted, making it difficult to distinguish the wax figures from real celebrities.

Exact copies of stars from America and other countries are situated in several halls within the museum.

It should be added that there is another wax museum in Hollywood, which was founded in 1965 by Canadian businessman Spoonie Singh. This museum is considered one of the largest in the United States.

About Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds Hollywood in Los Angeles is one of its 15 branches. It was founded in the United Kingdom by Marie Tussaud. Madame Tussaud was born and lived in France, and she was trained in the art of wax figure-making by Dr. Philippe Curtius.

In 1777, Marie Tussaud created her first wax figure, which was of Voltaire. Then her collection began to be replenished with new characters.

By 1802, Marie Tussaud had a small collection of wax figures and traveled throughout Great Britain with her works. In 1835, she finally decided to open a permanent exhibition in London. This exhibition was a huge success, with people queuing up to see the wax figures.

It’s worth noting that in 1925 a fire destroyed a large number of wax figures in the museum, but the molds were not damaged. Thus, it was possible to reconstruct everything that the fire had destroyed.

Madame Tussaud’s legacy lives on even after her passing, with museum collections growing each year. However, it takes a team of 20 people to create a figure, not just one person. Creating a realistic celebrity copy takes four months. Only natural hair is used for wax figures. Creating skin color also takes a long process. Special attention is paid to the figures’ clothing and jewelry. The sculptures try to come as close as possible to the style of the famous personality. After all, every detail of the copy creates an amazing image and the figures look like real ones.

Los Angeles is a metropolis consisting of 86 cities. It is a tourist city that cannot be explored in just a few days. For Los Angeles, even a few weeks may feel insufficient. That is why you should make a clear plan of places to visit. Madame Tussauds Hollywood is a must-see because here you can see copies of many showbiz stars, singers, actors, politicians and athletes.
